Carl the Clockmaker
This specific production does not yet have a description, but the play itself does:
Advertised as ‘The Acme of Musical Comedy Drama’.
Melodrama about an apprentice clockmaker, Carl Conrad, being duped into making bombs for Russian Nihilists. His deceiver, Maurice Helmore, seeks to marry Carl’s sweetheart, Lena Harrigan, with an eye to the fortune she’s due to inherit. Having first toured the play in 1894, Harry Starr continued touring it every year up to and including 1908.
