Play description
A mentally challenged young Welsh boy, teased by local children, murders a girl who destroys his image of beauty and chastity.
Observations
-
This is the first performance of a play by John Osborne. The author-credit is actually “by John J. Osborn and Stella Linden”. John started the play and Stella helped him finish it. She then directed it and played the part of Dilys. The play then disappeared.
It resurfaced as “Cry for Love” at the Pembroke Theatre, Croydon in January 1962 with Michael Williams and Julia Lockwood. Patrick Desmond directed.
