Ardèle

Valerie White had a heart attack during the Brighton run and was replaced by Elizabeth Tyrrell. White subsequently died on 3rd December the same year.

“Much thought, care, work and money were lavished on the Roger Clifford revival of ARDELE at the Queen’s, and it had two popular players heading the cast, Vincent Price and Coral Browne. But somehow the production did not work as was hoped and expected, and had to be withdrawn. Mr Clifford is new to management, with only one previous production, WHAT EVERY WOMAN KNOWS, at the Albery, which was a notable success. One up and one down so far.” – ‘Comment’, The Stage 31st July 1975
