Last five observations
- To production of Metropolis, by Joe Brooks and Dusty Hughes, Piccadilly Theatre, London, 8th March - 2nd September 1989: “I went to one of the previews. What a show. The staging was the best thing about it. There were two glass lifts either side of the stage that went into the ceiling and the floor. No idea how they did it. Great to look at. Only a couple of things went wrong. A light went out just as Brian Blessed was giving his big speech so he had to do it in the dark and one of the lifts got stuck. That is what previews are for I suppose. Get the kinks out.”
