They Came from Somewhere Else!
Cliffhanger publicity: “A science-fiction soap opera set in the quiet, starkly normal new town of Middleford. Then, one day, the Stranger arrives, and nothing will ever be quite the same again. This show features liver, prawns, metal underpants, and innocent shoppers being sucked down drains. Unusual.” The second Edinburgh run was advertised as a ‘Special Edition’ – “3-D glasses available.” Later formed the basis of a six-part TVS series with the same title, broadcast on Channel 4 from 14 July 1984.
