Copenhagen

How different would the world have looked had the Nazis been first to build an atomic bomb? This historical drama explores how close they may have been by imagining a posthumous reunion of Werner Heisenberg and Niels Bohr, two powerhouses of theoretical physics, who famously and mysteriously met in Copenhagen in 1941. Historians have long argued over what might have been said at this meeting – was Heisenberg trying to gather information about the allied programme, or warn Bohr of the existence of a German one? Was he looking for technical help or moral reassurance?
