Empire Theatre
Norwood News, 22 Jan 1915: “The exterior of the building to be known as the Empire Theatre, Beckenham Road, Penge, is a distinct improvement to the appearance of that thoroughfare, and should do much to smarten up that portion of the district.”
Used as a theatre until 1949 when it was bought by Essoldo Cinemas and was renamed “The Essoldo Penge.”
The final screenings were in April 1960.
