The Cat and the Canary
Michael Howard had previously played Paul Jones at the Q Theatre in December 1946 (qv) and would do so again on tour in 1954 and 1966 (both qv) – the latter directed, like this one, by Arnold Ridley, author of THE GHOST TRAIN. Though relocated to Cornwall, this 1948–49 production was advertised as ‘the Bob Hope version’ of the play, referring to the 1939 Paramount film adaptation.
