Last five observations
- To Harlequins Theatre Company production of Lock Up Your Daughters, by Lionel Bart, Laurie Johnson, and Bernard Miles, Carshalton Hall, 3rd - 6th May 1967: “This production might not have happened. It is listed in the programme of Hamlet as the “next production” but does not appear as a past production in any subsequent programme. Furthermore, it was due to be directed by the Company’s founder Anthony Harding, who is never mentioned in any later programme, either as actor, director or officer of the Company. The inference is that he fell out with the members of his own theatre (his director’s notes for Irma La Douce boast about causing resentment among the cast), but this is speculation.”
- To Harlequins Theatre Company production of Chips With Everything, by Arnold Wesker, Carshalton Hall, 19th - 22nd February 1964: “This production won the 1964 All England Drama League competition organised by the British Drama League (National Festival of Community Drama).”
- To Banstead Little Theatre production of Rattle of a Simple Man, by Charles Dyer, Banstead Institute, November 1966: “According to the programme, “The Producer wishes to thank Mr Matt Busby of Manchester United Football Club … and Mr Kenneth Wolstenholme for their personal assistance.” What that assistance was isn’t clear, though it clearly didn’t distract Busby from his day job since Manchester United won the league title that season. Perhaps he persuaded David Neylan, a Manchester City fan, to wear a red scarf.”
- To Banstead Little Theatre production of The Browning Version, by Terence Rattigan, Banstead Institute, April 1967: “Part of a double bill with The Dumb Waiter.”
- To Banstead Little Theatre production of The Dumb Waiter, by Harold Pinter, Banstead Institute, April 1967: “Part of a double bill with The Browning Version.”
