Chain Male
Comedy about a young wife (Angela) who returns to the UK after a Saharan kidnapping in which she was chained for two weeks to an older man (Stephen) who wasn’t her husband.
Advertised as a premiere, this was a heavily revised version of a play first presented at Richmond in 1938 (qv), with a once-topical subplot about ARP wardens removed.
