A Trip to Blackpool
This was the autumn 1900 leg of a tour that began in April that year. J Russell Bogue continued touring the show until at least September 1903.
‘A funny, farcical frenzy, under the above title… an extravaganza extraordinary. Mr J Russell Bogue plays in capital style the part of Corney Roddy, a “much-married” man, who on a pretext of burying his aunt goes to Blackpool on a spree. Mr Robert Perris as Dick Rover, works admirably through innumerable scrapes. Edward Mervyn makes a very effective Fred Quarrel, and P.C. Alert is in the capable hands of Mr Buckstone Clair.’ – South Yorkshire Times, 17th August 1900
