Manor House

“Once again Margaret Yarde returns to play at Windsor, this time in a completely new play by an unknown author from Kettering. It is the story of a dominating woman who tries to subdue her relations and grind them down so that they have no personalities of their own. There is drama and an abundance of comedy in it.” – Windsor publicity, 1942

In fact, the play had been produced twice in 1941 – in Morecambe (February) and Leicester (July). It was subsequently produced in London – at the Intimate Theatre, Palmers Green – in October 1945.
