The premiere of this play was originally scheduled for 9th November 1964 (by the Bristol Old Vic Company at Bristol’s Little Theatre), but was cancelled because of censorship difficulties with the Lord Chamberlain. The same playwright’s COCKADE took its place. (‘Chit Chat’, The Stage 29th October 1964, page 8.)
