The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
This was a touring version of the production seen at the Savoy Theatre in July-August 1931 [qv]. After initial weeks in Croydon, Stratford E15 and Hanley, the tour resumed, “with the addition of a new scene”, in April and May. (The Stage 28th April 1932; page 5.)
The adaptation was by William Senior, with a small acknowledgment to the previous Comyns Carr version. Arthur Conan Doyle’s A STORY OF WATERLOO was played throughout the tour as a curtain-raiser.
