This production was seen by film producer Anatole de Grunwald, who immediately set up a film version, starting at Teddington in January 1949, in which he cast three of the Windsor actors – Ronald Howard, Glyn Lawson and Julian D’Albie. (See Picturegoer 12th February 1949, page 13.)
