Lost Empires

In the months before the First World War, Richard Herncastle throws up his safe, dead-end office job in a grim Northern mining town and joins his famous uncle’s illusion act, touring the grand Empire Theatres of England and Scotland. This is the story of Richard’s coming of age in the looming shadow of the terrible conflict which will see millions of young men die and an entire way of life vanish, never to return.

Performed by BA (Hons) Acting Musical Theatre students, working alongside students from the BA (Hons) Theatre Practice.
