Seersucker Toady
Fresh-faced Alberta youths present a story ripped from yesterday’s headlines, set in the golden age of dirigible travel on the Canadian prairies. A tight-knit group of rural youngsters find friendships threatened by a curious rift, until a stray Zeppelin disgorges a fetching cargo of intellectual ingénues. Things come to a head when a prodigal son returns to the community sporting an arresting new jacket plus a rather controversial new attitude, and the climax is an international birthday celebration like none you’ve ever attended. ‘The Seersucker Toady’ is as funny as history should always be, but seldom is.
