Two Islands
‘Two Islands’ is a journey into the lives of two women and the islands they come from – Cuba and Manhattan. Comprised of two pieces (‘The Jewish Nun’ and ‘Island Blogosphere’), they are connected by a globe-trotting bridge. These plays show the worlds of one Jewish-American woman and one Cuban-American woman. Playing on both the isolation we sometimes feel as individuals and the connectedness we feel as a part of humanity, these are the stories of culture clashes, the worlds of outsiders, bloggers, and the women who strive to find themselves as they delve into their cultural history.
