Intertwine
A quartet of diverse new works ranging from a muscular male solo to a malevolent duet. Infused with Collisions’ ‘beautifully crafted’ (Stage) blend of the inventive physicality of contemporary dance, and classical ballet’s discipline and grace. Solo ‘Soupirs’ reveals flashes of brooding male vexation, ‘2’ is a poignant tale of sinister siblings. Contemporary ballet piece ‘Inertia’ depicts a struggle against its namesake condition, while dance, speech and song meet soap opera in ensemble finale ‘Gloria’. ‘Quids in with talent’ (Herald); ‘Quirky and contemplative… consistently high quality… Collisions displays much promise for a new company’ (List); **** (BroadwayBaby.com, 2008/9).
