Petite Rouge
Canvas Theatre presents ‘Petite Rouge’; a Cajun Red Riding Hood book, music and lyrics by Joan Cushing. Adapted from the book by Mike Artell and illustrated by Jim Harris. The tale of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, where Little Red is a duckling and the wolf is an alligator called Claude! Set in swampy Louisiana and Mardi Gras in New Orleans, this fable has colourful theatrics, masks and jazzy foot-tapping tunes. The story is ostensibly for children but like all good children’s theatre, it is equally entertaining for the grown-ups.
