The Top Girls Employment Agency helps hundreds of women, struggling for work, find their calling in life, or at least something to do in the meantime. Ahead of it all is Marlene, a career driven woman who is determined to climb her way to the top, though this sometimes means treading on a few heads, regardless of gender. Respected by her work colleagues and loved by her family, is what she would want you to believe, but seeing the changing attitudes and opinions towards such a determined working female and some of the terrible truths behind the lives of so many hard working women, can sometimes tell us otherwise.

‘The best British play by a woman dramatist’
– Guardian –

Set in the early years of the Thatcher Government, Caryl Churchill’s Top Girls explores the effects that Thatcherite values had upon feminism. An engaging and enjoyable night out, Halfway House sets out to do this powerful piece of theatre justice with a vibrant, enthusiastic and all female cast being possibly the freshest thing on the menu this December!
