First play in a season of thrillers at the Lyric Hammersmith.
Frederick Keen had previously played the title role in the West End production of this play, in 1927–28 (qv). Hamilton Deane repeated his West End role as Van Helsing, as did Jack Howarth as the warder.

Play description
Hamilton Deane’s famous stage adaptation of the Bram Stoker novel, first produced at the Grand Theatre, Derby from 15th to 20th May 1924. Deane’s adaptation was itself adapted by John L Balderston for presentation on Broadway in October 1927 [qv].
