Astoria Theatre

The theatre was originally built as cinema in 1927 on the site of a former Crosse and Blackwell warehouse. It was converted from a cinema to a theatre in the 1970s. From the late 1980s it became a music venue and nightclub. It closed in 2009 and was demolished to make way for the “Crossrail” project. A new theatre called @sohoplace is now incorporated into the redeveloped site around Tottenham Court station.
