Lizette Cardozo

Born ELIZABETH EMILY CARDOZO in March 1868 at Wellington Road, Peckham,South London. Lizette was the eldest of four children of William Page Cardozo, a surgical instrument maker, and Mary Walker.
Her uncle was Herbert George Cardozo, aka “H.G.Clarence”,“The World’s Wizard” and “Professor Nunez”. He was an illusionist, magician,ventriloquist,theatrical agent from Islington who performed in music halls across the country. Perhaps Lizette inherited her love of the stage from him.
Lizette never married and died on 1^st May 1947 at St Mary Abbots Hospital, Kensington.
