James MacVeigh

James MacVeigh is the author of ‘Gaskin’ (Cape) the biography of a child who was abused while in the care of the Social Services department of Liverpool City Council. This was made into a film by the BBC, an early break for actor Paul McGann, and after Gaskin‘s death from AIDS while serving a life sentence for the murder of a British sex club owner in Manila, Philippines, MacVeigh posthumously co-wrote a second book about him, ’A Boy Called Graham’ (John Blake publications) MacVeigh is the author of several radio plays as well as 30+ published short stories and countless pieces of non-fiction. He lives in Bristol with his wife and two children and is currently working with the Synergy Theatre Project. His new play, ‘The Lighthouse’, premiered at the King’s Head Theatre in Islington, London, on 26th September 2011.
