The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

The third stage production adapted from the 1978 BBC Radio series. Directed by Ken Cambell, who, a year earlier, had a critical and box offfice hit with his ICA production. This extravaganza, however, proved too ambitious, with live rock band, a laser show and 3-hour running time. The 3,000+ seat Rainbow Theatre (a rock venue in Finsbury Park, North London, once known the Astoria Cinema) had been booked for 8 weeks, but the show closed after only three.

The programme images pages 1/4 are copies of the original handed out at the Rainbow Theatre to audience in summer 1980, the original programme was donated to the Theatre Museum, Covent Garden. That museum closed and I do not know if the donation was kept or destroyed.
