The Blue Angel
Adaptation of the Heinrich Mann novel and Josef von Sternberg film.
“Edgar K Bruce is particularly outstanding in a convincing interpretation of the part of the old professor who becomes ensnared by the wiles of Suzette, played by Patricia Hicks.” – The Stage, 6th July 1950
This adaptation was revived at the Theatre Royal, Leicester in March 1953 (directed by Alexander Doré) and the Palace Theatre, Westcliff in July 1965 [qv].
