The opening Bath date was intended to last a fortnight, but was reduced to a week owing to Wilfrid Brambell being ill. Daphne Anderson took the place of the originally announced Diana Coupland.

Play description
“The Late Christopher Bean” is a translation and adaptation of the French play “Prenez Garde a la Peinture!” by Rene Fauchois.
It was adapted by Sidney Howard and presented at the Henry Miller’s Theatre in New York in 1932. It was anglicised by Emlyn Williams and presented in London in 1933 when the setting was changed from Boston USA to a small village in the middle of England. The plot remained the same but two characters were renamed and their backgrounds slightly altered.
