Frankie Cosgrave

Frankie Cosgrave (Frances Elizabeth Cosgrave) was born in Lancing, West Sussex in 1949 of Irish parents. James Cosgrave from Co. Waterford and Ellen (nee Hennessy) Cosgrave of Co.Cavan, Eire. Educated at The Convent of Our Lady of Sion School, Worthing, and Worthing College of Further Education, she enrolled at The Drama Centre London in 1969 on a three year course to train as an actress. First job after graduating from Drama Centre in1972 was a TIE Tour of The Highlands & Islands of Scotland for The Pitlochry Festival Theatre, a year with Theatre Mobile based in Burnley, Lancashire was followed by long seasons with Repetory Companies at The Northcott Theatre Exeter, The Gateway Theatre, Chester, Nottingham Playhouse, The Birmingham Repetory Theatre, The Swan Theatre, Worcester, The Theatre Royal, York, The Everyman Theatre Cheltenham, and The Theatre at Keswick, The Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh. From 1980 -1985 she was a member of The Royal Shakespeare Company and from 1993 – 1995 a member of The English Shakespeare Company. From 1991 – 1992 she studied for an MA in THEATRE ARTS, at Goldsmiths’ College, The University of London and from 1992 until 2009 taught and directed at The Rose Bruford College, LAMDA, The Method Studio and Drama Centre London, now part of The University of The Arts.
