Last five observations
- To Vic-Wells Ballet production of Douanes, by Geoffrey Toye, Sadler's Wells Theatre, London and The Old Vic Theatre, London., 11th October 1932 - 20th February 1933: “Thanks for your observation; please do be polite in contributions. This site consists of contributions of what people know; that doesn’t make it incorrect, just lacking the full amount of information. If you know of other performances, please feel free to contribute your data to the site. From consulting “The London Stage 1930–1939: A Calendar of Productions, Performers, and Personnel”, I see this production of Douanes is listed at Sadler’s Wells on 11th October 1932, 13th October (m), 25th October, 3rd November (m), 15th November, 24th January 1933, 7th March, 28th March, and 2nd May. (And at the Old Vic on 19th October 1932 (m), 28th November, 30th November (m), and 20th February 1933). It then returned (perhaps a different production?) on 3rd October 1933, 24th October 1933, 19th December 1933, 27th February 1934 and 19th March 1934.”
- To production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, by William Shakespeare, Adelphi Theatre, London, 1905 - 1906: “https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otho_Stuart is presumably who it is referring to. There is also an antique site with more details at https://www.sellingantiques.co.uk/696452/an-exceptional-adelphi-theatre-silver-vesta/ Hope that’s helpful.”
- To production of Antigone, by Sophocles, Hudson Guild Theatre, New York, 1995: “LA Times review at https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1995–09–29-ca-51274-story.html”
- To production of An Enemy of the People, by Henrik Ibsen, Young Vic, London, 1988: ““I remember the production with great affection as I learnt a great deal from understudying Tom Wilkinson and it was my first West End production.” – Harry Miller, private correspondence”
- To production of The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde, Bristol Old Vic - Little Theatre, 1964: “Looking at http://www.calmview2.eu/BristolTheatreArchive/CalmView/Record.aspx?src=CalmView.Performance&id=5149 all the archive material is from September 1963, so I would guess the November 1963 date.”
