Lord Adrian
This specific production does not yet have a description, but the play itself does:
First produced by Lord Longford at the Gate Theatre, Dublin on 9th March 1937.
Concerns an elderly Duke who undergoes a rejuvenating monkey-glands operation, then marries his secretary and produces a son, Lord Adrian. The boy’s strange affinity with animals sends him into the woods at night, teaching foxes and badgers how to make fire and fomenting an animal revolt.
Reviews include: George Buchanan, ‘Boy into Beast’, News Chronicle 17th April 1937 (page 7) and Philip Page, ‘Lord Dunsany writes a queer play’, The Sphere 24th April 1937 (page 24).
