Whistling in the Dark
This play was filmed in 1933 with Ernest Truex and Edward Arnold repeating their stage roles. Although made and shown under its original title it was subsequently retitled “Scared” for TV showings so as not to be confused with the 1941 remake starring Red Skelton. This version led to two sequels using very similar plots called “Whistling In Dixie” (1942) and “Whistling In Brooklyn” (1943).
