The Laughing Academy

Like WILL YOU WALK A LITTLE FASTER? (qv) – also presented in June 1960 – this play ran in the West End for only six performances.

Audiences were advised that the title was ‘beat talk’ for a madhouse.

‘First Cop’ was renamed ‘policeman’ in the West End, while ‘Second Cop’ was dropped altogether.
