Vieux Carré
Press night at Nottingham Playhouse was 11th May 1978. Tennessee Williams saw this performance, together with the preview the evening before. (‘Regional Theatre’, The Stage 11th May 1978, page 22.)
On the production’s West End transfer, Sheila Gish quit after only three performances in protest at last-minute cuts imposed by Williams. (‘Star Sheila in Walkout Row’, Daily Mirror 19th August 1978, page 2.)
