Backbone
First play by the future children’s author and poet Michael Rosen, then aged 21 and still at Oxford University. A ‘production without decor’, performed on consecutive Sundays in February 1968, was followed by a full production in May, with three cast changes. R B Marriott’s review in The Stage was headed ‘New young playwright may well be more interesting later on’.
