Observations
-
My parents met while working on The King’s Mare at The Garrick Theatre. My Mother’s name was Vilma Stuttle, my Father’s name was Peter Reid. My Mum had a small part in the play (Lady in Waiting), but she was also understudy to another part. My Dad was working as a dresser, he was charged with the task of teaching Vilma how to sing and play the guitar, this was no mean feat, Vilma was tone deaf! I have publicity photographs of Vilma in costume, and a copy of the original Playbill as a memento. Imogen Reid (Vilma and Peter Reid’s daughter)

I have copies of the show’s programme and two gowns, worn by Keith Michell in the production – marked with his name. They are quite well worn – I think they did the ‘rounds’ of ‘am-dram’ before I got them. I am very interested in/a collector of anything related to Michell as Henry VIII.
