The Hired Man
Performed by the original 1982 cast to celebrate the 10th year since its opening at the Astoria Theatre, The Hired Man is a musical by Howard Goodall, an English composer, songwriter, and playwright. The story begins in the 1890s, where a man named John Tallentire works as a farm labourer and coal miner in the northwest of England. The cast album was recorded live during this performance, narrated by Philip Schofield.
