The Coventry Blitz Show
“A SMILE A SONG AND AN INCENDIARY BOMB”
The great raid of November 14 1940 in Coventry was the climax of a long series of ferocious air raids from which no part of the city was free. Despite the horror, in researching the period, the company heard many stories of heroism and absurdity. The result was an entertainment presented by “The Happy Shelterers” concert party in a theatre space which was transformed into a simulacrum of an air raid shelter.
