The Rivals
With The Rivals, Richard Brinsley Sheridan established his reputation in 1775. A comedy of manners, the play tells the story of the entangled love affair of Lydia and Jack as well as introducing a host of other memorable characters including Mrs Malaprop one of Sheridan’s most enduring creations.
