The Lords and Ladies of Little Egypt

A Festival of Gypsy Music centered around the main stage at London’s ICA Theatre, The Mall with further musical acts at The Town and Country Club (now The Forum, Kentish Town. The ICA Stage and auditoria accommodated a television crew and audience around a proscenium arched set specially constructed to enhance and withstand a punishing flamenco program, the walls of the theatre featured massive modern fresco “cut out’s” painted by the artist Raymond McChrystal assisted by Caroline (Wilson) Dolton. In all this event featured nineteen international culturally associated gypsy musicians, dancers and performers, it was The Gypsy Kings step into mainstream media after a decade of relative obscurity
