Play description
This is a new and revised production. Diamond is based on the life of one of the East End’s most memorable characters, Harry Young, who as Diamond Lil dressed solely as a woman from the age of 14. Araond the streets of Bethnal Green, he became the heartbeat of the East End community during WWII and beyond. Uncompromising, funny and tragic at times. This is a story with a real heart about real people some of .whose lives truly were stranger than fiction.
