The History Boys
Ut Severis Seges Theatre Company returns to the Great Hall of the Royal College of Physicians following the triumph of ‘The Madness of George III’ (2004), ‘Amadeus’ (2006) and ‘Hamlet’ (2008) – all **** in ThreeWeeks. In Alan Bennett’s comedy a group of intelligent and unruly sixth formers pursue the Oxbridge dream and open up questions on education and its purpose. The comic anarchy of adolescence collides with conflicting approaches to teaching in the pursuit of academic success. John Lonsdale directs former members of Sandbach School Theatre in this thought-provoking and life-enhancing play.
