Great Zimbabwe
Using traditional dance, music, rhythm and song, this dramatic story reveals the strength of humanity in the struggle for Zimbabwean independence and challenges the role that politics has played in the birth of the nation up until today. Grassroots is a theatre-for-development company from Bulawayo, specialising in using dance, drama and music for positive change, aiming to reduce poverty through education. Since 1992 Grassroots has been visiting the UK, delivering workshops and performances in schools, churches, community centres, hospitals, prisons and theatres. In Zimbabwe, Grassroots organises the Sanganisai Children’s Festival, a fantastic annual event for children affected by HIV/Aids.
