Educating Agnes

A delightful new adaptation of Moliere`s ‘L`Ecole des Femmes’ by leading Scottish poet and playwright Liz Lochhead. Middle-aged Arnolphe believes all wives cheat on their husbands. He shelters his young ward, Agnes, in a convent, until she is old enough to marry him, believing that her innocence will protect him from cuckoldry. Whilst away on a business trip, he leaves her in the care of two daft servants, with strict instructions that she be kept in isolation. His best laid schemes go agley when she meets and falls in love with young Horace.
