M: Purge Ritualistic
When Euripides wrote ‘Medea’ the audience was well-versed in the myths of Greek society. Simple, vague references were well known events of great cultural significance. Today, ‘M’, the new production of ‘Medea’, searches for new parallels to the lives of the audience and performers. The production has found a fresh significance with an American Louisiana context. ‘M’ creeps out of the bayous, exploring its colorful history, finding a balance of sexual, spiritual and literary lives representing our present culture. We wish to share this funny, tragic and intensely compelling work with an international audience.
