Rite of Spring

A dance-theatre re-working of Stravinsky’s 20th century masterpiece (which scandalised the 1913 Parisian art world) which captures the spirit of the original work with fury, passion, and moving tenderness. This dramatic contemporary work, devised by a company of young women together with professional dancers and director, celebrates life’s tremulous passage from girlhood to adulthood in a journey encompassing loss, anticipation and the enduring bonds of friendship. This unique company of young performers working collaboratively with professionals delighted Fringe audiences in 2008, and premiered ‘The Rite of Spring’ to thrilled sell-out audiences at last year’s Wirksworth Festival.
