Day the Sky Turned Black

On 7 February 2009, South Eastern Australia was ravaged by firestorms equalling the energy of 1,500 atomic bombs. Based on the true events of Australia’s greatest natural disaster, an inspiring story of courage, humour amidst adversity and hope. Weaving together stories of survival from Black Saturday, this new work, written and performed by Ali Kennedy-Scott, is based on real interviews with survivors, journalists and psychologists. An uplifting show, with unexpected humour and tremendous tenderness. ‘The hairs on the back of your neck will stand up’ (GlamAdelaide.com) ‘A superior show’ ****1/2 (Adelaide Advertiser).
