An upstairs / downstairs innocent lust type of plot is the vehicle for some brilliant songs and a masterful Brisket role as waiter in the Cremorne Gardens, masked ball, “Chateau bottled our wine, it may look very fine, but the labels are made in Bombay!” – “ they’ll all have to sup, from what’s not been used up, or we might have to throw it away!” the lighting was suitably dim, to allow for many mistaken identity situations! The excuse for the man of the house to go to Town, “keep your eye on Surats!” (shares) stock exchange trip – assignations, etc. Excellent show.
