Shakers

In Two we presented a pub packed with customers, ‘Tim Cartwright wrote his play for 2 people, Liz Light converts it triumphantly’ – Evening Mail

‘Stage2 in neither Timid nor Juvenile’ Metro

In Teechers we followed a school full of hooligans,
‘From the moment the youngsters swarm through the auditorium and onto the stage the action is fast and furious’ Birmingham Mail

In Shakers we once again take snapshots of a chaotic crowd of characters, but this time we trace their ‘ bigger picture’- What brought people to this bar to both work and play? Shop Changing rooms are braved, hours dragging at tedious day jobs are counted down, vital make-up repair kits are packed – as we meet the customers behind the orders and the waitresses behind the smiles.

Every town has trendy bars with a mad mix of clientele – local checkout girls, businessmen on expenses, lads on the pull, drunken birthday parties, loved-up couples trying to impress each other. You’ve seen them, scored them or been them…
A fascinating and often hilarious glimpse of the reality that lurks behind the glamour and glitz. All set to a soundtrack of party hits from the last five decades – this is a theatrical event not to be missed!

‘For 21 years I have somehow resisted the temptation to call this dynamic young group brilliant. This time I realised it was time to give up the struggle – the funniest Dream I have ever seen.’ – Birmingham Mail on A Midsummer Night’s Dream
