A Christmas Twist

Stage 27 presents The Illegitimate Players’ ‘A Christmas Twist’ – a witty, humorous Dickensian satire of Christmas excesses and all too familiar faces…. Join us for an evening of comedy genius as we introduce you to a mixture of characters from Charles Dickens’ literary world, all bizarrely intertwined to kick off the Christmas season in the most unlikely way…..

Meet Scrooge, Tiny Twist (a gargantuan twenty-ish boy who is a mixture of Tiny Tim and Oliver Twist), the legendary Mr. Fagin and his booty grabbing imps, Bumble, the Cratchits, Little Orphan Annie, Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future – all garishly dressed to show old Scrooge the error of his miserly ways. Join Tiny Twist as he navigates his way through a ‘gruelling’ journey to discovering who he is, mingling with a host of characters who don’t seem to know what play they are in. A mixture of the stories of Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol, these infamous characters are thrown together in a big bowl of literary Christmas punch to create a fresh new gruelling take on the goodness of the poor, and of course the rich, and what Christmas really means……
